Obituary for Kenneth D. Schroeder, Sr.

Kenneth D. Schroeder, Sr., 81, passed away at home on May 16, 2019.Born in Newark, NJ in 1937, he graduated from Jonathan Dayton Regional High School in Springfield in 1955. He served three years in the U.S. Army from 1955-1958 serving part of his time in Korea.Upon his discharge, he held several jobs in the automotive parts field, including positions at McFadden Motors, in Long Branch, McGloin Buick and Star Auto both of Tinton Falls, retiring in 1999.

Kenneth was a beloved father and grandfather. He loved baseball, spending time as a coach and an umpire. He also enjoyed listening to traditional country, bluegrass and gospel music.

He was predeceased by his father Rudolph C. Schroeder, mother Muriel Beabe Schroeder, a son Ronald C. Schroeder and a brother Richard C.Schroeder.He is survived by his daughter Marilynn M. Schroeder and son-in-law,Charles D. Bodner, his son Kenneth D. Schroeder, Jr and son-in-law Lito C. Schroeder all of Lakewood, and his son Dr. David W. Schroeder Sr. and daughter-in-law Belinda Meadows Schroeder of Franklin, Tennessee. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Michael S. Rubens, Madison M. Hughes David W. Schroeder Jr., and Blake S. Schroeder.

A memorial service will be held at Peter Cooper Village, 200 Forest Street in West Long Branch on Monday, July 1, 2019 at 4:00 pm, where family and friends may gather to celebrate his life. Memorial gifts may be made to The Opry Trust Fund, 2804 Opryland Drive, Nashville Tennessee 37214. The family invites you to leave a letter of condolence, light a memorial candle or make a memorial donation by selecting the appropriate tab.
