Print
Nunzio James Calise, age 86 of Eatontown, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at home. Born and raised in Newark, he lived in Long Branch before moving to Eatontown in 1960. Nunzio was an air conditioning and refrigeration specialist for HISA at Ft. Monmouth for 30 years retiring in 1987. He served our Country honorably as an Airman 2nd Class in the US Airforce during the Korea Conflict and was a member of IAMA and parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church of Christ the King Parish.

Nunzio’s selfless demeanor was apparent to all who were fortunate enough to know him. As a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he took great pride in spending countless hours with his family and close friends. Accompanied by his wife, Marie, he enjoyed playing golf, spending winters in Orlando, FL and hosting get-togethers. He was an avid Jets and Mets fan and found great pleasure in rooting against the Yankees. With his quick wit, infectious laugh and great sense of humor, Nunzio always knew how to light up a room.

He was predeceased by his wife Marie Rose Ottaviano Calise in 2012 and his sister Carmela Landa. Surviving are his son, Neil Calise; 6 daughters and 4 sons in law, Nancy Ann Cameron, Deborah Calise, Angela and Daniel Rust, Laureen and Howard Hemstreet, Maria and George Taylor, Karen and Andrew Bottari; his brother Thomas Calise and twin sister Marie Johnson; 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
