Obituary for Robin D. Torro

Print
Robin Denise Torro was born on June 28, 1956 and climbed the stairway to heaven on November 11, 2019.

Growing up, Robin enjoyed her time at the Jersey shore. Her days were spent learning to swim in the salt water pool, riding the boats on Wesley Lake and splashing in the ocean. She loved the Asbury Park boardwalk and all of the fun activities it once had.

Robin enjoyed large family get togethers with her grandmother, parents, sister, aunts, uncles and cousins. She loved welcoming new family members to the get togethers each year, especially her nieces and nephews. Her outgoing personality could not be matched and Robin’s beautiful laugh was contagious.

Robin chose a career in nursing and it was one that served her in many aspects of her life. She worked hospital bedside and in homecare. Most recently, Robin’s nursing expertise led her to working with children with special needs.

As an adult, Robin still loved large family get togethers. It was as an adult where Robin could be the one to introduce a new family member, her beloved son Joseph. He was the light of her life, her truest joy. Robin would look at her beautiful son and beam with pride.

Robin’s love for the Jersey shore remained with her and she could be found sitting on a bench watching the waves or walking the boards and remembering what used to be.

Robin was a selfless human being. She would go without to ensure that others had what they needed. This selfless nature was seen in Robin’s work and her personal life.

Robin was predeceased by her father Bill Lamborn, her mother Joan Upham, her step-father Bill Upham, her husband Doug Torro, her cousin David Ditrick and her uncle Norman Ditrick, as well as many other close aunts and uncles.

Robin is survived by her son Joseph Cancel and his father Idel Cancel, her sister Carol Nauta, her aunt Carol Ditrick, her granddaughter Lillie, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
