Alexis (Lexi) Montgomery unexpectedly passed away on July 5th, 2023, at Bayshore Hospital. She was born on May 17, 1991, and was 32 years old.
Born in New Jersey, Lexi was welcomed into a loving family through adoption. Her life was centered around the beautiful shores of Long Branch, NJ. In 2009, she graduated high school through Brookdale, and her pursuit of education continued at Rutgers through the Brookdale program, where she obtained her associate's degree. She was only 12 credits away from completing her bachelor's degree in paralegal.
Lexi was a “low-key genius” and had a passion for languages and words. She became familiar in Spanish and was actively learning French and Japanese. Her intellectual curiosity knew no bounds.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Lexi loved engaging in friendly competition and gaming. Whether it was playing Spades or indulging in online video games like Halo and Pubg, she cherished the thrill of competition. Music was another avenue of expression that she adored, with a deep appreciation for listening, writing, creating, and learning to play various musical instruments.
For someone dealt such difficult cards, Lexi knew how to play them with grace and strength. Misunderstood throughout her life, she remained open-minded, touching the hearts of even strangers with her humor and compassion. She filled the lives of family and friends with laughter and joy.
Lexi possessed a keen entrepreneurial spirit, always contemplating her next business move. Throughout her life, she held a variety of jobs, including delivering pizzas for Rockafellers, working at West End Family Pharmacy, providing security at a nightclub, and engaging in the retail industry, as well as working as a paralegal.
With an insatiable desire to explore the world, Lexi had a strong wanderlust and dreamed of traveling to Paris, Greece, Rome, Spain, and Dubai.
Her uplifting spirit radiated happiness and laughter, brightening the lives of all who knew her.
Lexi was preceded in death by her adopted father, Michael Montgomery, her adopted mother, Joanne Koolick, her sister Chloe Montgomery, and her beloved cats, Santino and Fat Louie. She is survived by her aunt, Alison Koolick, her cousin/brother, Shawn Koolick, and Daniel Koolick, as well as her great cousin, Norah Koolick, and Joanne's son, Robert Kauffman, and her cat, Luna. Additionally, she is remembered by her honorary godmother, Lisa Spiegel, and lifelong friends, Dimitri Rago, Missy Melillo, Laurelen Kennedy, and countless other cherished friends, whose names are too numerous to list.
