In loving memory and with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Raike Foley on December 9, 2023 with her loving family by her side.

Mother, grandmother, great grandmother and “adopted” mom aunt and grandmom to many, Barbara is survived by her daughter Debra Cohee and spouse Albert, grandson Jason Westrich, granddaughter Jennifer Gerardi and spouse Anthony and great-grandchildren Colin and Kayley, and grandson Matthew Westrich and spouse Amanda and great-grandchildren Gia and Cassidy. Barbara is also survived by her son Harold Foley, his spouse Tracy, grandson Brian Cottrell and partner Sara and great-granddaughter Gianna, grandson Brian Foley and spouse Andrew, grandson William Kozak and spouse Krystal and her great-grandchildren Logan and Gwendolyn, grandson Thomas Foley and fiancé Kyle Le, and granddaughter Shannon Foley and fiancé Joshua Cheatum.

Barbara is additionally survived by her brother Thomas Raike, his spouse Elizabeth and their extended family, and her brother Richard Raike, his spouse Violet and their extended family. Barbara is predeceased by her wonderful parents, Arthur and Marion Raike, and her brother Arthur Raike.

While recently residing in Toms River, Barbara is really recognized as a lifelong resident of Highlands, NJ. While Barbara was active in PTA, PTO, Methodist church activities and taught Sunday school, worked in a variety of local businesses, and volunteered in community activities, her real passion was her children, their families, and the families of all the many relatives and many friends she had.  The recent outpouring of love and messages from all that she touched to “my adopted mom”, “aunt Barb”, and “my grandmom” really shows her impact on the lives of others and their deep appreciation and affection for her.

Barbara faced her recent illness with strength and resilience and found comfort in her family and friends. She is now welcomed into heaven by family and friends who have passed before her. God Bless Them All. 

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the viewing on Friday, December 15 from 3-7 pm at Damiano Funeral Home in Long Branch. The funeral will be held on Saturday 9:30 am at the funeral home with the service to begin at 10 am. Interment will follow at Bay View Cemetery in Leonardo.
