Brenda Nelson

Mary Brenda Nelson, known to family and friends as “Brenda” died at the age of 80 in Long Branch on Monday, December 19, 2022. 

A native of Jersey City, New Jersey; Brenda graduated from St. Aloysius Academy and St. Peter’s University.  She moved to the Jersey Shore and raised her family in Lincroft with her first husband, Ralph A. De Sevo.  She later married Robert Nelson who died in 1998. Brenda was an avid bridge player and ACBL Silver Life Master. She lived in Long Branch for the last 22 years.

She is survived by her significant other, Matthew Kappel; her 3 children, Alex, Elizabeth & Dianne DeSevo and their father, Ralph as well as her grandchildren, Ralph and Sara DeSevo. She also leaves behind her three brothers John, Arthur and David McGuire and their families.

Visitation will be held at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue in Long Branch on Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 10 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11 am.
