Carolyn Schneider

Carolyn Marguerite Schneider (née Hohman), affectionately known as Carol, passed away on August 22, 2024, in Oceanport, NJ, at the age of 94. Born on February 14, 1930, in Belleville, NJ, Carol was a cherished figure known for her warmth, kindness, and humorous spirit, especially evident in her role as a devoted mother to her six children.

Carolyn faced the immense challenge of raising her children alone after the passing of her husband, Frederick W. Schneider, and was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary E. Buck, and son, Charles E. Schneider. She is survived by her loving children, Frederick W. Schneider III, John D. Schneider and his wife Linda, Suzanne C. Kraemer and her husband Paul, and Christopher E. Schneider. Carol is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren

She was a parishioner of the Church of the Precious Blood. Her hobbies included knitting, which brought warmth to many through her scarves, sweaters, and baby blankets. Carol also enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles, reading detective novels by Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie, and indulging in her favorite treats—chocolate, Baileys Irish Cream, and ice cream of any flavor.

A graveside service to honor Carolyn's life will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 12:00 noon at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 115 Wall Street in West Long Branch. The service arrangements are being handled by Damiano's Funeral Home in Long Branch, NJ.
