Charles "Charlie" Calabro Jr., aged 72, passed away on August 1, 2025, in Neptune, NJ. Born on September 29, 1952, in Long Branch, NJ, Charlie lived a life marked by dedication and warmth.
Charlie graduated from Long Branch High School and soon embarked on a career that would span over three decades. He worked as a roofer with Composition Roofers Local Union, taking pride in his craft and forming lasting relationships with his colleagues.
Beyond his professional life, Charlie was deeply involved in his community as a past member of the Long Branch Italian American Association (IAMA) and a current member of the Long Branch ELKS Lodge #742. His commitment to these organizations reflected his love for his hometown and its people.
Known for his storytelling, Charlie often shared elaborate tales of his youth in Long Branch, which will be remembered and cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His warm, outgoing personality made him a beloved figure in his community.
Charlie is survived by his sister, Lucia Calabro, and niece, Sofia Calabro. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Calabro and Sophia DeCrescenzo Calabro.
Services will be private, with a celebration of Charlie's life to be held at a later date. Charlie's legacy will undoubtedly live on through the many lives he touched.
