Curtis J (Butch) Kramer, 73, of Toms River, died on August 20, 2021 at Ocean Medical Center. Butch was born in Long Branch, NJ to Henry and Vernelle Kramer and lived most of his life in Long Branch and the surrounding area. Butch attended Christian Brothers Academy and graduated from Long Branch High School. While he held jobs at Hewlett Packard and Seaboard Fire and Safety, his passion was playing the drums. Butch played drums for several local bands and was owner of Blue Note Music Studio in the 1980s.
As a volunteer firefighter with Neptune Hose in Long Branch for decades, earning lifetime membership in 2016, he was committed to the safety and security of the community.
He is survived by his daughter, Melody Kramer Geroux, and her husband Greg Geroux of Milford, Pennsylvania, as well as his ex-wife Sharon Linhart Kramer and many loving friends.
A graveside service is planned for Sept. 1, 2021 at 11 am at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Kramer's name will be gratefully accepted by the American Kidney Fund or the American Diabetes Association.
