Dale D. Budd Obituary

Dale (Egan) Budd, 73, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022 in Raleigh, NC, surrounded by her loved ones. Dale was born in Long Branch in 1948 to George and Edith Egan. She was a 1966 graduate of Long Branch High School. It was LBHS where she met her devoted husband, William (Billy) Budd. Billy and Dale married in June 1969 and began their family a year later. They resided in Long Branch until 1974 then moved to Oakhurst to raise their family. In 2019, they relocated to Fuquay Varina, NC. Dale's number one priority was raising her three children. Dale previously worked for Steinbach Dept. Store and Littman Jewelers. She was also an at-home care provider to a number of other children for many years, all of whom she loved and cared for as her own.

During her life, Dale enjoyed camping trips with family and friends, coffee time with neighbors, annual Wildwood Fireman's Convention trips, Disney trips, going on cruises and enjoyed hosting family gatherings for holidays. A few things she took great pride in were her outdoor plantings and decorations around the house for every season and holiday and her laundry (never met a stain she couldn't tackle). In recent years, she enjoyed connecting and sharing with family and friends, new and old, on Facebook. Her pride and joy, however, was being a Mom-Mom to her four grandchildren. She could always be seen at their activities as the #1 Fan and never let a chance to boast about them go to waste!

Dale is predeceased by her father, George H. Egan (2007), mother, Edith (Jones) Egan (2016), brother, Kevin G. Egan (2007), grandchildren, Jillian and Ryan Labrecque (2004) and Madelyn Labrecque (2007), father-in-law William, C.R. Budd (2014) and in-laws, Grace and William Pyatt (2001).

She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, William (Billy) Budd; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly Maguire (Daniel) (Ocean, NJ) and Michelle Labrecque (Scott) (Fuquay Varina, NC) and son and daughter-in-law, Brian Budd (Jennifer) (Oakhurst, NJ); grandchildren, Daniel and Lindsey Maguire and Jason and Braden Labrecque. Also surviving are her two sisters-in-law, Lori Egan (FL) and Gracie Grossman (Ocean NJ), as well as her niece, Lauren O'Shea; nephew, Daniel Egan and great-nephew, Benjamin O'Shea. Dale will also be greatly missed by her fur-babies Katie and Holly, and countless life-long friends who she also considered family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 11 from 4:00 pm until the time of the service at 7:00 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue in Long Branch.
