Diego Diaz Obituary

Diego Diaz, who was born on August 10, 1929, in Moca, Puerto Rico, passed away on May 11, 2026, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, after a life filled with love, laughter, and the kind of charm that could brighten any room. He was a man whose presence was felt immediately, not because he demanded attention, but because he naturally drew people in with his warm smile, quick wit, and easygoing spirit. He lived with heart, humor, and a style all his own, and he carried those gifts with him through every season of his long life.

Diego was a loving, funny, and friendly man who knew how to make ordinary moments feel special. He had a gift for turning a simple conversation into a memorable one, and he could bring laughter to a gathering with just the right comment at just the right time. He enjoyed music, singing, and dancing, and he never seemed to miss a chance to enjoy a good rhythm. If there was a song playing, Diego was ready to tap his feet, hum along, or join in with the kind of energy that made everyone else want to smile and move too. He also enjoyed playing dominoes and instruments, and he approached every game and every tune with the same lively spirit that defined his personality.

Diego attended school through the eighth grade, and although his formal education ended early, his life was rich with the kind of wisdom that cannot be taught in a classroom. He learned through experience, hard work, faith, and the example of living each day with dignity and good humor. He worked as a factory worker at the Virginia Dare factory, where he contributed with steady dedication and a strong work ethic. He understood the value of honest labor, and he carried himself with pride in the work he did and the life he built.

Faith was an important part of Diego’s life, and he was a Christian who lived with a quiet strength and steadfast belief. His faith helped guide him through life’s joys and challenges, and it gave him comfort, purpose, and peace. He was the kind of man whose beliefs were reflected not only in words, but in the way he treated others, with kindness, patience, and respect. He had a heart that welcomed people, and a spirit that made others feel at ease in his company.

Diego was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carmen Arzola, with whom he shared a life and memories that remained close to his heart. He is survived by his children, Sara Diaz, Greg Diaz, Gladys Rodriguez, Maribel Hernandez, and Ino Diaz, who will forever carry his love, his lessons, and his unmistakable sense of humor with them. He is also survived by his nephew Luis Ramirez and his wife Carmencita, along with 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed to know his love and enjoy the joy he brought to the family.

Though Diego’s earthly journey ended due to sepsis and heart failure, the laughter he shared and the love he gave will continue to echo in the lives of those who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of family, faith, music, and joy, and he will be remembered as a man who could make people laugh, feel welcome, and feel loved all at once. Diego Diaz lived a full life, and he did it with heart, humor, and a friendly spirit that made the world a little brighter.
