Donald Francis Courter

Donald Francis Courter, known to his loved ones as Don, passed away on May 26, 2023, at the age of 84 in Brick, New Jersey. Don was a dedicated son, brother, friend, husband, and father. He is survived by Linda Ann, Max, and Bobby Bruhn; his son Michael and wife Camille, his daughter Amy and husband Bill, his daughter Melissa, his grandchildren Alex and wife Nicole, Jared and wife Kathryn, Connor, Shane, Emily, Hannah, Maggie, and Nate, and his great-grandchildren Olivia and Toby, as well as his brother Eddie.

Don was born on December 27, 1938, to Samuel Ross and Margaret Courter. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brothers Paul, Bobby, and Billy, and his sisters Pat and Peggy.

Don served in the US Army for two years and was proud of his military service. After his time in the Army, Don worked as a paste-up artist at The Asbury Park Press and also became an entrepreneur running his own cleaning service. He was never afraid to roll up his sleeves to get a job done or to help a friend. He instilled his spirit of generosity and hard work in his children.

Don was known for his captivating blue eyes and quick wit. He was a good friend with a great sense of humor. He loved bowling, fishing, and long walks. He loved to host picnics and to spend time with his loved ones and friends.

Services for Don will be held at Damiano Funeral Home at 191 Franklin Ave, Long Branch, NJ 07740. The viewing will take place on Monday, June 5th from 5-8 pm, and the funeral service will begin at 10 am on Tuesday, June 6th. Don will be interred at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, New Jersey.
