Dr. Gloria I. Jannucci, known to her loved ones as Gloria, passed away on July 12, 2023, at the age of 94 in Morgan, NJ. Born on January 16, 1929, in Elizabeth, NJ, Gloria led a remarkable life filled with independence, zest, and a deep love for her Italian heritage.
Gloria's vibrant personality and adventurous spirit were evident throughout her life. She chose not to marry and embraced a life of freedom and exploration. Traveling was one of her greatest passions, allowing her to experience the world and create lasting memories. Gloria's sense of pride in her Italian heritage was unwavering, and she cherished the traditions and values it instilled in her.
Family always held a special place in Gloria's heart, and she was exceptionally close to her five sisters, as well as her numerous nieces and nephews. She treasured their company and the bonds they shared. Gloria's love for reading was evident in her extensive collection of books, which adorned the shelves of her home's library/office. It was a place where she found solace and nourished her mind.
An advocate for natural treatments and proper nutrition, Gloria attributed her long and healthy life to these principles. She firmly believed in the power of holistic approaches to wellness.
Gloria's educational journey was marked by excellence. She attended Elizabeth High School in Elizabeth, NJ, and pursued higher education at the University of Southern California, where she obtained her master's degree. She furthered her studies at Columbia University and earned a doctorate in psychology from Rutgers University.
Throughout her career, Gloria made significant contributions in the field of psychology. She served as a clinical staff psychologist at Marlboro State Hospital, as well as a school psychologist for Keyport High School and the Colts Neck Board of Education. Her commitment to helping others and her expertise in the field left a lasting impact on those she worked with.
Gloria found solace and nourishment in her faith as a parishioner at Star of the Sea. Her spiritual beliefs provided her with strength and guidance throughout her life.
Gloria will be deeply missed by her surviving sister, Mrs. Philomena King, and her many nieces and nephews. Her legacy as a strong, independent, and compassionate woman will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Funeral Tuesday 10 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass at 11 am at Star of the Sea Church in Long Branch.
