Ella Mae (Bivins) Mears passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021 at Jersey Shore Center in Eatontown. Ella Mae was born on May 4, 1938 in Milledgeville, GA to the late Walter Bivins and Millie Mae (Roberts) Bivins. She came to New Jersey when she was in her early twenties and met her future husband; the late Ernest N. Mears, Sr. Enjoying a long relationship together, they raised four children. On June 18, 1988 they were united in holy matrimony.
She and her husband were very active members of the Kingdom Hall and together, on November 17, 2007, they were baptized. She loved Jehovah God and was a faithful servant.
Those left, who will always cherish her memory, are her children and loved ones; 3 sons, William J. Bivins, Sr., Lawrence Bivins, Ernest N. Mears, Jr.; her daughter Millie A. Stokes (Mears); 5 granddaughters, Samera T. Butler, Talia C. Yanowitz, Nicole Barbara, Rhea J. Hunter, Nijah A. Stokes and Autumn M. Stokes (deceased); 3 grandsons, William J. Bivins, Jr., Lawrence Smith and Nathaniel K. Stokes; 5 great grandsons, Yasin Cheung, William J. Bivins, III, Cameron C. Braaf, Khai D. Braaf and Kyilan Hunter; 2 great granddaughters, Autum L. Braaf and Sophia Foy; her brother, Mr. Warren Bivins of Georgia, Mr. Jimmy Bivins of Toms River, Mrs. Lula Mae Brookins of Georgia; her sister in law, Geneva Washington of New Jersey and a host of many loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 10:30 am until the time of the service at 11:30 am at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue in Long Branch.
