Gail Mandia Walsh, age 72 of Oceanport, lost her hard fought battle with cancer on March 3, 2022 at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch.
Gail was born at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, on August 4, 1949 to the late Marion Mandia and Philip Mandia. She was the oldest of 6 children, but not so secretly joked that she should have been an only child.
Gail graduated from Middletown High School and enjoyed playing softball and track while in school. For many years so was a resident of Florida, but eventually came back to her home state of New Jersey. She was a compassionate animal lover who had many, many pets over her lifetime.
She will be forever loved and held dear in the hearts of all her family. Her children, Philip J. Norris and wife Kellie, her daughter, Tara L Callano and her husband Pat; her most beloved grandchildren, who were the lights of her life, Cody Norris, William Callano, Nicholas Callano and Jenna Norris; her siblings, Ann Raio, Philip Mandia, Craig Mandia, June Still and Robyn Mandia as well as her partner Freddy and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
At Gail’s request no formal services will be held. A special thanks to all the wonderful cancer nurses who don’t get enough credit for all they do. Donations in Gail’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, http://www.cancer.org/ or to the Monmouth County SPCA https://monmouthcountyspca.org/general-donation-form/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwnqH7BRDdARIsACTSAduVf1ncGBfq The family invites you to leave a letter of condolence by selecting the Tribute/Guestbook link above.
