George Z. Burks, 67, of Long Branch, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, September 5th, 2022. George was born in Summit, New Jersey. He lived in Boca Raton with his family before going into the army in 1972. He became part of the 1976 mechanized infantry. He lived in Avon and Bradley Beach and called Asbury Park his stomping ground. He settled in Long Branch where he lived for 32 years and raised his family. George worked for Avon Door fixing garage doors for 25 years before retiring in 2009. George was also a member of Monmouth Shore Points motorcycle club for 30 years and a long time parishioner of Holy Trinity Church of Christ the King Parish.
George is predeceased by his parents Robert and Jane Burks. George is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Angela Rella-Burks, his daughters Stephanie and Amanda Burks, his grandson Benjamin Soriano, his sister Patricia Trossman, and his brother Michael Burks. George is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and biker brothers and sisters.
A memorial gathering will be held at Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue in Long Branch on September 17th, 2022 from 12 pm until the time of the service at 1:30 pm followed by a motorcycle celebration of life at the IAMA, 195 West End Avenue in Long Branch from 2-6pm.
