Gregory Tozzi, 57 years old of Long Branch NJ, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. He was born at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, NY in 1964 to Chester and Priscilla Tozzi. Greg went to Madison High School and worked at Scarola’s on Church Avenue in Brooklyn from 1980 till they closed their doors in 2000. He worked a few different food service jobs till he found McLoone’s in Asbury Park from 2013 until December of 2021 when he began to feel ill.
Greg loved Michael Jackson and collected Michael Jackson Memorabilia and spending time with his husband Gus, his fur baby Asbury, friends and family. He participated in AIDS walk and volunteered at THE CENTER in Asbury. Anytime you were in the car with Greg, you never had to worry about where you were, because Greg was your tour guide. He would tell you who lived where and what house Gus’s previous partner (Jack) did the interior decorations for even if he told you numerous times before.
Greg was predeceased by his dad Chester in 1997; his mom Priscilla in 2018; his fur babies Phantom and Raven. He is survived by his husband Gus Kavouras; siblings Chet, Marcy, and Jeannette; brothers in law Victor and John; sister in law Dawn; nieces Jessica and Gabriella; nephews Victor, Joseph and Johnny; nieces in law Rebecca and Luiza; nephew in law Salim; great nieces Isabella and Victoria; great nephew Anthony and his fur daughter Asbury.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 7 from 3:00 pm until the time of the service at 6:30 pm at the funeral home.
