Howard S. Butler Obituary

Howard S. Butler, son of the late Harry and Greta Butler was born on June 18, 1951 in Long Branch, New Jersey. Howard died peacefully in his sleep at home on March 4, 2021.

Howard was known for his quiet yet very observing disposition. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Long Branch, New Jersey.

He worked for many years for the Arc of Monmouth in Long Branch, his favorite station was working on the hospital kits. Howard’s hobby was to collect cars and trucks, which he cherished and allowed very few people to touch them!

Howard felt it was his job as well, as a pleasure, to keep up with the daily weather reports so he could report it to his brother and sister. He was a loving and caring brother as he called his sister every day at five o'clock to wake her up for work by saying "It's five o'clock and all is well".

No matter what his brother cooked good, or just okay, Howard would say "Butch the dinner is delicious". Howard always loved his nephew to come to town, because that meant lamb chops, yellow rice and broccoli without fail. He enjoyed looking at all of the old comedies you could hear his laughter all through the house.

Howard is survived by his brother Harry S. Butler, Jr., his sister H. Sue Harrison, his nephew Nicholas, his great nephew Nick-Nick, his aunts Viola Threatt, Marva Hunt, Karen Westwood (Lamarr), Norma Martin and his uncle Roger Holmes.
