James Morris Harris

James Morris Harris, 71, of Long Branch, New Jersey, passed away on July 16, 2023. He was born on March 19, 1952, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. James was a loving, generous, and kind-hearted gentleman, known for his warm personality and caring nature.

James served in the Army National Guard for four years, where he demonstrated his dedication and commitment to his country. After his military service, James embarked on a successful career, working at Bell Atlantic and later at Monmouth Park Racetrack. In his free time, James enjoyed indulging in his hobbies. He had a passion for golf, where he spent many hours perfecting his swing and enjoying the outdoors. James also found solace in smoking cigars, savoring the rich aromas and flavors they offered. Additionally, he loved playing cards, engaging in friendly competitions with his friends and family.

James will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of over 42 years, Rosemarie Harris. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Dina Anastasio, and her husband Peter Anastasio. James took great joy in being a grandfather to his granddaughter, Gianna Tafuri, and her husband Louis Tafuri, as well as his grandson, Nicholas Anastasio. He was also blessed to have a great-granddaughter, Capri Rose Tafuri. James is survived by his aunt, Maryse Malone, and his cousins, Kevin Malone and Eddie Malone. James was preceded in death by his father, Ed Harris, his mother, Etheline Richmond, his aunt, Reba Johnston, and his uncle, Pat Malone. Their memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.

The loss of James Harris leaves a void in the lives of all who knew him. He will be emembered for his kind spirit, dedication, and love for his family.
