Joseph Anthony Pingitore Jr., aged 70, passed away on December 27, 2024, in Neptune, NJ surrounded by family. Born on July 30, 1954, in Long Branch, NJ, Joseph dedicated his life to the outdoors, both personally and professionally.
Joseph made his career as a landscaper, a profession that allowed him to nurture his love for nature and the environment. He was also deeply passionate about wildlife, particularly deer. He devoted much of his time to volunteering with deer rehabilitation in Whiting and enjoyed observing these graceful creatures through outdoor cameras at his home.
Beyond his professional and volunteer work, Joseph was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, activities that connected him with the natural world he cherished so much. He also found joy and relaxation in cruising, exploring new horizons with the same adventurous spirit he brought to his everyday pursuits.
Joseph's life was enriched by his loving family. He is survived by his fiancée, Lisa Fligner; son, Joseph Pingitore; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Pingitore; daughter, Julia Christiansen; son-in-law, Adam Christiansen; their mother, Lisa Pingitore: grandchildren, Joseph Pingitore IV, Madeline Christiansen, Frank Christiansen, and Jack Pingitore; brother, Donald Pingitore; sister, Beth LaMarca; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Pingitore, Sr. and Patricia Pingitore.
In memory of Joseph, contributions can be made to Popcorn Park Animal Refuge, 1 Humane Way, Forked River NJ 08731 an organization close to his heart due to its commitment to providing a refuge for wildlife. Joseph's love for the outdoors and his commitment to wildlife conservation will be remembered by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025 from 5-8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home in Long Branch. Funeral Saturday, 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:30 am Mass at St. Michael’s Church in West End, Long Branch. Interment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in West Long Branch.
