Joseph Taranto

Joseph Taranto, age 91 of Monmouth Beach, died Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Born in Chicago he moved to Monmouth Beach 35 years ago. Mr. Taranto was the Vice President of Sunshine Biscuits in Woodbridge. He worked his way up from the bottom ending his career in a senior leadership position responsible for national sales. During his time at Sunshine Biscuits he received numerous awards as a result of his efforts.

He was predeceased by the love of his life June Taranto and his brother, Frank Taranto. Surviving are his son and daughter in law, Joseph and Cheryl Taranto; two grandchildren, Tony and Kelli and his brother, Sam Taranto.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 10 from 2 to 4 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue in Long Branch. Interment will be at Russell Memorial Cemetery in Lebanon, VA. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.
