Joseph Anthony Urgo, aged 90, passed away on July 8, 2024, in Milford, Delaware. Born on May 3, 1934, in North Bergen, New Jersey, Joseph, affectionately known as Joe, lived a life marked by dedication, service, and joy.

Joe served honorably in the United States Army from September 23, 1954, to September 13, 1956. His time in the military was a testament to his commitment to duty and country. He later graduated from Monmouth College.

Following his military service, Joe built a career as a union electrician, a role that allowed him to contribute significantly to his community.  Joe’s work ethic and skill were well-respected among his peers and those he served throughout his career.

Beyond his professional life, Joe was a passionate outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting, often sharing these experiences with his brother. His carefree and fun-loving nature brought great joy not only to his family but to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Joe was predeceased by his father, Salvatore Urgo, his mother, Assunta Fragetta Genzano, his brother, Vincent Urgo, his sister-in-law, Polly Urgo (Renals), and his nephew, Roy Schrumpf. He is survived by his nieces, Claire Schrumpf (Urgo) and Judy Bauer (Urgo); great-nieces and great-nephews, Kelly Lind (Schrumpf) and her husband Jacob, Michael Schrumpf and his wife Lauren, Roy Bauer and his wife Sara, and Stephanie Scheivert (Bauer) and her husband Eric; and great-great-nieces, Katie Lind, Emmaleigh Lind, and Anna Schrumpf.

Visitation for Joseph will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue, Long Branch, New Jersey, from 11 am until the time of the service at 12:30 pm, with a repast to follow. Joe's life and legacy will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him, as a testament to a life well-lived with love, laughter, and dedication.
