Josephine Scataglia

Josephine Mary Scataglia (née Stranieri), affectionately known as Josie, passed away on January 9, 2025 in Wall, New Jersey at the age of 94. Born on January 21, 1930 in Long Branch, New Jersey, Josie lived a full life characterized by her caring nature and active lifestyle.

Josie was renowned for her selflessness and her ability to prioritize the needs of others before her own. She loved to dance when she was able. She remained vibrant and energetic throughout her life, taking great pleasure in activities like playing BINGO, crafting, and spending time with her friends and family.  A talented baker, Josie's specialties were always eagerly anticipated by those around her.

Her family was the center of her world. Josie is survived by her loving son, Joe Scataglia of Long Branch; her loving daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Vinnie Fallone of Point Pleasant; her daughter-in-law, Jill Scataglia; her cherished grandchildren, Michelle and Nick, Jennifer and Joe, Sammi and Adam; and her adored great-grandchild, Isabella.

Visitation will be held at Damiano Funeral Home in Long Branch on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 from 5 to 7 PM. A Funeral, Wednesday 9:30 am at the funeral home follow a 10:30 am Mass at Saint Michael's Church in West End. Interment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in West Long Branch.
