Kelvin Ramsumair

Kelvin Ramsumair, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on August 10, 2023, at the age of 78 in Long Branch, NJ. He was born on January 19, 1945, in Corosal, Trinidad and Tobago.

Kelvin will always be remembered as a highly intelligent, lovable, giving, caring, and kind individual. He was a devoted family man who cherished his wife Alice, their children Kerry and wife Celyne, Trudy and husband Marco, Keegan and wife Nicole, and his grandchildren Samantha, Tyler, Alexis, Breana, Emma, Isabella, and Alessandra. Kelvin's retired years were enriched by the companionship of his beloved dog, Tux. He was an avid reader and a political aficionado. Kelvin's charitable nature led him to support the ASPCA, and he had a genuine affection for all animals.
Kelvin's impact on his family and loved ones cannot be overstated. He will be deeply missed and forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.

Kelvin began his career as a teacher, dedicating 28 years of his life to shaping young minds. He then served as a Vice Principal for 2 years before his retirement. Kelvin's passion for helping young adults led him to become the National Service Program Director.

Kelvin worshipped at Maraval Presbyterian Church, finding solace and inspiration in his faith. In his leisure time, Kelvin enjoyed playing soccer and cricket, tending to his garden, appreciating fine wines, spending quality time with his grandchildren, and listening to music.

A memorial service to honor Kelvin's life will be held at Damiano Funeral Home, located at 191 Franklin Ave., Long Branch, NJ 07740, on Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 3pm until the time of Words of Remembrance at 4:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Kelvin's memory to the Monmouth County ASPCA, a cause that was close to his heart.

Kelvin Ramsumair's legacy will continue to inspire and touch the lives of those he leaves behind. May he eternally rest in peace.
