Lorelle Griffin Obituary

Lorelle Claire Griffin, 71, of West Long Branch, formerly of Monmouth Beach, passed away peacefully Friday evening, November 5, 2021.  Born in Jersey City, Lorelle lived in Hoboken before moving to Monmouth Beach as a young child.

Lorelle attended Monmouth Beach School and later graduated from Red Bank Catholic in 1967, followed by Stuart Business School.  Lorelle started her career with the Department of Defense, which is where she met her soulmate, Carl in 1970. Lorelle and Carl were married in 1973 and went on to start a family of their own, which included their two boys, Carl and Tim.  Lorelle and Carl raised their boys in the home that she grew up in sharing memories and love throughout the years.

While raising her boys at home, Lorelle was very involved with the community.  She was a member and past president of the Monmouth Beach PTA and taught CCD at Precious Blood Catholic Church.  Much of her service to the community was spent on Beach Road at the Monmouth Beach Fire house serving as past president and life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Monmouth Beach.  She spent many nights supporting her sons and fellow fire fighters at fire scenes. Lorelle also worked many years at McLoone’s as a pantry chef where she perfected her famous rice pudding recipe.

Lorelle is predeceased by her father and mother, Edward and Beatrice Nolan, Sr.; her brother Edward Nolan, Jr. and her father-in-law Carl W. Griffin, Sr.

She is survived by her loving husband Carl W. Griffin, Jr; her two sons and their wives, Carl E. Griffin, Sr, and Carrie; Timothy P. Griffin and Kymberly; and her most cherished treasures that she referred to as her “HOOLIGANS” (grandchildren), Carl Jr., Samantha and Abigail.

She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Faye Griffin; sister and brother-in-law Noreen and John Raso; sister-in-law and husband Missy and Brian Allan and brother in laws Timothy Griffin and Marvin Griffin and his wife Alison.  She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
