Lucille P. Chichelo, 89, of West Long Branch, formerly of Orange, died on Saturday, June 25, 2022, peacefully at home in the presence of her son and daughter. Born and raised in Orange, N.J., Lucille moved to West Long Branch in 1973. She was employed by NJ Bell Telephone Co. in Newark prior to marriage and raising her family.
Lucille was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, James, who died in 2012; her parents, Joseph and Angelina Savino Poliseno, and two brothers, Carl and Frank. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, James and Donna Chichelo; a daughter, Cheryl Chichelo, all of West Long Branch; four grandchildren, April and her husband Steven Velez, Gina, Michael, and Lisa Chichelo; two great-grandchildren, Eva and Nicolas Velez; sisters-in-law, Lucille Poliseno (late Carl) of Eatontown, Pauline Chichelo (late Joseph) of West Orange, and Louise Chichelo (late Peter) of Dania, Fla.; many nieces, nephews, friends, and especially her decades long best friend, Francine Marucci.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, from 9:30a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave. (corner of Third Avenue), Long Branch. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s R.C. Church, Long Branch. Entombment will follow at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport, N.J.
