Margaret E. Rescinio Obituary

Margaret Elizabeth (Marge) Rescinio (nee Venturino) age 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 14, 2022, at her home in Ocean Township. She was comforted by her loving family who held her hand as she left us for a better place.

Marge was born in Red Bank, to Angelina Tesauro and Antonio Venturino. She was the last of six siblings to pass away. Marge attended school in Red Bank, graduating Red Bank Catholic High School in 1953. Marge was proud of her selection as the Sodality Prefect for Our Lady at RBC. She also was active in Drama Club, Color Guard, Glee Club, and the Forensic Club. She graduated from St. Peters Hospital School of Nursing, New Brunswick as a registered nurse in 1956.

On May 10, 1958, Marge married her husband of 63 years, Umberto N. (Al) Rescinio. They met on the beach in Long Branch and began a lifelong devotion to each other. Marge and Al lived in Red Bank, Long Branch, and Ocean, but spent 41 years in Oceanport where they raised their family.

Marge worked at Riverview Medical Center and later in life as a private duty nurse caring for several prominent people in the area. She also worked as a visiting nurse for the VNA of CNJ operating vaccine clinics and visiting the homes of those who needed care. Marge volunteered at many organizations such as Meals on Wheels, Lunch Break, St Vincent de Paul, and as a school nurse at CBA.

Marge loved to travel, play tennis, and walk with her friends Etta, Lucille, and Angela, but her biggest love was her family. She took pride in gathering her family together. Every birthday, holiday, or special event was an opportunity for her to cook and celebrate. Her promise of making her mother’s baked white macaroni recipe was a sure way to get us all together. She touched so many lives.

Marge was predeceased by her parents, a child at birth, and her siblings Ann, Mary, Peter, Victor and Helene. She is survived by her husband of 63 years and her loving children and their spouses, Gina and Steve Egidio of Oceanport, Michael and Susan Rescinio of Red Bank, Albert and Tara Rescinio of Eatontown, and Adrienne Rescinio and her partner Ian Church of Freehold. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren Elizabeth Dunn, Alyssa Rescinio, Nicholas Dunn, Christopher Rescinio, Alexandra Dunn, Peter Rescinio, Ashley Rescinio and Morgan Rescinio.

Visitation will be held at the Damiano Funeral Home in Long Branch on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 4:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 7:30 pm. Entombment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Associated Humane Society, 2960 Shafto Rd., Neptune, NJ 07753, Amerigo Vespucci Society, 286 Willow Avenue, Long Branch, NJ 07740 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
