Maria Ruby Galang

Maria Ruby Buenconsejo Galang, 87, passed away at 9:34 am, Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Monmouth Medical Center, NJ.  She was born June 29, 1934.  She was a graduate of Philippine Women’s University with an Accounting Degree and an Ateneo de Manila Masters Degree in Business Administration. 

 Ruby began her career in Olongapo City as an Administrative Assistant. This is where she met Lads. They then started a family and had Jun-Jun ( Abelardo Jr.).  Their marriage began and it consisted of travelling through Thailand and Vietnam for several years. They then immigrated to the United States in 1967. They made Freehold, New Jersey home for the next 40 plus years. Lads and Ruby retired in Boca Raton, Florida.

She is survived by her husband Abelardo Sr.(Lads) and son, Abelardo Jr. (Jun) and granddaughter, Justine.  She is also survived by her sisters, Alice Buenconsejo and Asuncion Reyes, and brother, Joseph Buenconsejo.  She is predeceased by her parents, Alejandro Buenconsejo and Consuelo Armstrong; her sisters, Esperanza Siron, Amelia Buenconsejo, and brother, Alejandro Jr.

The funeral mass is going to be on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 10:30am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Long Branch, NJ. All are welcome to attend to pay their respects to our loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. If you are unable to attend the mass in person, it will be broadcasted live on the Damiano Funeral Home website.
