Mary Lou Ercolino, age 81, of Long Branch, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. Born in Long Branch, she was a lifelong resident of West Long Branch. Mary Lou spent her entire career as a Financial Analyst at Fort Monmouth before retiring. She loved spending time with her beautiful family, traveling to tropical places, shopping with her granddaughters and going to the gym. She especially loved warm weather and enjoyed spending time in her Florida home during the winter.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Mario; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Mario Ercolino Jr. and his wife Laura of West Long Branch, Anthony Ercolino and his wife Elizabeth of Ocean Township, and Gino Ercolino and his wife Caroline of Middletown; and 6 beloved grandchildren, Nina, Anthony, Alyssa, Joseph, Sofia and Zachary.
Mary Lou is also survived by her loving brothers- and sisters-in-law, Eloise Arbia, Judy Huewe, Gerardo “Nino” and Camille Ercolino, Ida and Tom Zozus, Anne Marie Newman, Franco and Jill Ercolino. She has many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
Mary Lou was predeceased by her parents, John and Lillian Arbia, and her brother Nicholas and sister-in-law Jean, and brother John “Chip” Arbia.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 2-5pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., Long Branch. A Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 15 at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Church in Long Branch. Entombment will follow at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101.
