Mary McKinley Hughes Obituary

Mary McKinley Hughes, better known by her friends and family as Jill, entered eternal sleep on January 20, 2021 after a hard battle with cancer.

Born Mary Jeanette McKinley on December 8, 1949 to Julia Brudis McKinley (1924-1994) and Daniel McKinley (1922-1979), the first of five children in Queens, NY. 

Jill lived a good life surrounded by family and friends.  She was best known for her long career with AT&T, her love of travel, being an outstanding cook, as well as an avid gardener.

She is predeceased by both parents and her brother Martin McKinley (1951-2006).  She is survived by her husband John P. Hughes, Long Branch, NJ; a daughter Danna Klima Morson and her husband Myron Morson, Jr. of Asbury Park, NJ; a son, Benjamin Klima of Belmar, NJ; her granddaughter Alexandria of Asbury Park; 3 sisters Barbara Welans of Taunton, MA, Sheila McKinley-Bell of Clinton, CT, Jeanette Stefanisko of Yonkers, NY, as well as countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center 1275 York Ave., New York, NY 10065.  Services will be held off until a gathering can be planned post Covid.
