It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Michael Joseph Garofalo, 58, of Long Branch, NJ. He was a dedicated father, sports buff, world traveler and explorer extraordinaire. He was overjoyed after learning he would be a grandpa this May and excited for his upcoming cross-country trip to meet his new grandson, who he loved with all his heart but sadly never got the chance to hold. One of his big goals in life was to travel to all 50 states and was ecstatic to accomplish this goal later this year by traveling to his last state, Hawaii, with his travel partner, Lorene.
He is survived by his daughter Denise Garofalo and her fiancé Paul and grandson Calvin of Denver, CO; long-time partner Lorene of Long Branch, NJ; sister Cara and nephew Owen of Philadelphia, PA; and brother Chris of Philadelphia, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Joyce Garofalo formerly of Westfield, NJ. He had many friends and will be deeply missed by all.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 1st, 2023 at McLoone’s Pier House, 1 Ocean Ave N, Long Branch from noon to 4 pm.
Please RSVP to Lorene by May 24th via email: Lorene_felleman@msn.com
