Nellie Rugg

Nellie Rugg, 95 of Lakewood died on Monday, May 17, 2021 at Jersey Shore Center in Eatontown. Born in New York, she had lived in Lakewood for the past 19 years. Nellie was a home maker who loved being around her family.

Nellie was predeceased by her husband Melvin Rugg in 2007 and her daughter-in-law, JoAnne Rugg on April 30, 2021. Surviving are her son, Melvin Rugg; her niece, Ann Johnson of California; her nephew, Chuck Cusano of Missouri and her dear friend Gloria Yerkovich.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 24 at 11 am at Star of Sea Church, Second and Chelsea Avenues in Long Branch. Interment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in West Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s NJ, 425 Eagle Rock Ave, Suite 203, Roseland, NJ 07068.
