Patricia Asfendis

Patricia (Pat) Asfendis passed away on May 25, 2020 in Wall, NJ at age 77. Pat was born in NYC on April 1, 1943 to Edward Byrnes and Mary Walker Byrnes. A graduate of Mother Cabrini High School, she later met and fell in love with George Emmanuel Asfendis in Belmar, New Jersey. They were married for 49 years and raised their sons in Haverstraw, NY. She worked as an art teacher in St. Augustine’s School in New City, NY and later as an administrative assistant at Rockland BOCES. Pat was a passionate woman, free spirited and creative. She was quick to laugh and always ready for a fiery debate. She loved music- Billy Joel, the Beatles, and Elton John were among her favorites-enjoyed good food and drink, and adored her family. Pat would agree that her greatest love and achievement were her sons. Her beloved George predeceased her, but she is survived by her loving sons George (Mary), Paul (Julie) and Andrew (Kim). She was adored by her seven grandchildren Elena, Audrey, Andrew, Matthew, Leo, Autumn and Charlotte. 

The family would like to thank Brighton Gardens of Middletown for their wonderful care for Pat these past few years.
