Prof. Dr. Mulkh Raj Ahuja, born on May 19, 1933, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025 surrounded by his family.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Ila, his three loving daughters, sons-in-law and his six beautiful grandchildren. 

Raj lived and worked as a molecular geneticist on four continents, spoke numerous languages and published over 200 scientific manuscripts and papers.  Raj authored/edited 17 books, two of which he co-authored with his wife Ila.  His passion for his work kept him writing papers into his 90s and his dedication and discipline is an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Raj was the rock of his family, fiercely loyal, unapologetically protective and would do anything for his loved ones. He will be very missed. 

A service for Raj will be held at the Hindu Om Temple on January 11, 2026 at 11:00 am. 124-126 Joralemon St., Belleville, NJ 07109. There will be a luncheon at the temple following the service. Please let the family know if you will be joining them.
