Ralph Anthony DeFazio passed away peacefully on June 2, 2021 after a long illness at the age of 73.
Ralph born in Long Branch, New Jersey but was currently a resident of Tinton Falls, New Jersey. Many of his high school classmates will remember him by his nickname “Snakebite”.
Ralph was predeceased by his parents, Rose Rippandelli DeFazio and Anthony G. DeFazio. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy Errico DeFazio, a daughter, Dina Katherine Skowrenski, and son-in-law, Robert Skowrenski, and his grandson, Noah Patrick DeFazio, whom he loved so very much. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Louis Trebino, his sister-in-law, Louise Kinsey, his brother-in-law, Carl Errico, and several nieces and nephews, Kristin and Joseph Hill, Michael and Andrea Trebino, Michelle Kinsey, David Kinsey, Keith Kinsey, Tanya and Edward Verdi, and several great niece and nephews, as well as many cousins and close friends.
Ralph graduated from Long Branch High School in 1966. He attended the College of Artesia in New Mexico. He served in the US Army Reserves for six years. Ralph worked as a Foreman for NJ American Water Company from 1971 until his retirement in 2007.
Ralph loved his trips to Atlantic City where he enjoyed his card games. He also had a fancy for playing his rub-off lottery tickets. Ralph always enjoyed being surrounded by his family and friends. That’s what made him most happy.
A Repast/Memorial will be celebrated on June 23, 2021 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Spring Lake Manor, 415 Highway 71, Spring Lake, NJ 07762. In memory of Ralph, donations may be made to his favorite charities, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and Shriner Hospital for Children.
