Ralph Allen Miller, Sr. Obituary

Ralph Allen Miller Sr, 93, of Monmouth Beach, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday August 20, 2025. Ralph was born in Cleveland, OH on January 31, 1932. Their family moved to New Jersey where he met the love of his life, Delores, (“Pat” as she was known by family and friends) at Collingswood High School.  They married in July 1953. He graduated from Drexel University in 1954 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then proudly served in the Army for 2 years and was honorably discharged as a 1st Lieutenant Corps of Engineers at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. He worked at Westinghouse and General Electric Aerospace Division when he resided in Cherry Hill from the late 1950’s until 1971 when the family moved to Monmouth Beach. He then worked at Air Cruisers Company/Garrett Corporation, Wall Township, as Chief Engineer and Vice President for 22 years until his retirement in 1992. He was well respected in his field. He had a very rewarding career and was awarded multiple patents related to design and manufacture of aviation inflatable evacuation slides, rafts and life vests.

Ralph enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, horse racing and poker games.  He enjoyed making his own fishing rods. He was known for buying, selling and collecting cars and boats since he was a teenager .He was quite the mechanic and could fix almost anything.  He had a green thumb as he enjoyed planting his vegetable garden from seeds and sharing his harvest. He loved and was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with them and telling stories of his many adventures throughout his life. Ralph was dearly loved and cherished by his family.

Ralph is predeceased by his loving wife Pat, of 61 years in 2015. Ralph is survived by his five children; his son Ralph Allen Miller Jr and wife Linda, his four daughters, Carol Castronova, Marie Kuhlthau and husband Philip, Lynn Roberts and husband David, and Tracy Miller, and his 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

A private family service will be held.
