Regina Barbara DeMasi Obituary

Regina Barbara DeMasi “Renee” 89 of Monmouth Beach, New Jersey passed away on January 5, 2022. Born in Bayonne, New Jersey to Joseph and Pearl Harcher. Renee lost her father at a young age and was raised by her mother and loving stepfather William Beelitz. Renee graduated Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School and worked for AT&T.

She met and married Anthony Joseph DeMasi, Jr. and was a devoted wife for 68 years. They moved to Monmouth Beach in 1959 and raised 7 children. The common thread throughout Renee’s life was her love for children and her love for God.

While in high school, she volunteered at the New York Foundling Hospital. After raising her own children, she worked as a preschool teachers’ aid and even drove the bus! She loved the job and the kids loved her. As an avid knitter, she put her skills to good use making hats and booties for babies with HIV/AIDS. Renee was a devout Catholic and an active member of the Altar Rosary Society. Even with 7 small children, she still found time to iron church linens and to hold office for her beloved church group.

Renee was predeceased by her daughter Regina DeMasi O’Neill, son Anthony J. DeMasi, III and grandson Albert Welsh, III. Renee was the beloved wife of Anthony J. DeMasi, Jr. and loving mother of Joy, William and wife Holly DeMasi, Gregory and wife Paula DeMasi, Lisa and husband Matthew Franks and Peter. She cherished and was proud of her 6 grandchildren and great grandchild.
