Richard C. Hayes, age 64 of Long Branch, died Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC. Rich was born in Long Branch and was a life resident of the shore area. He served our Country honorably in the US Navy from 1978 to 1988 serving as a Seaman First Class.
Rich enjoyed many things in life; however he had a passion for playing pool and computers, which led to taking classes at DeVry Technical Institute and enjoyed visiting Monmouth Park.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ann and Charles; his grandparents, Charlotte and Tim and Mary and John. Surviving are his brother Bob; his sister Mary; nephew Jon, two nieces, Melissa and Christine and many cousins.
A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024 from 6:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 7:30 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue in Long Branch. Interment of cremains will be held on Tuesday, October 1 at 10:00 am at Brigadier General Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown.
