Robert Joseph Notarnicola, known affectionately as Bob, of Point Pleasant passed away on December 13, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on November 12, 1935, in Chicago Heights, IL, he dedicated his life to serving his country and community.
Bob proudly served in the Army, where he embraced the discipline and camaraderie that military life offered. His commitment to service continued long after his military career as he became an active member of his local community.
A devout attendee of St. Martha's Church in Point Pleasant, NJ, Bob's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was deeply involved in church activities and cherished the community it provided.
Beyond his service and faith, Bob was also known for his leadership within the Point Pleasant Lions Club, where he once served as President. His dedication to this role reflected his ongoing commitment to civic engagement and community betterment.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria Notarnicola, and his parents, Angelo and Minnie Notarnicola. He is survived by his sons, Richard and his wife Eileen, Paul and his wife Donna, his grandsons, Michael, Matthew, and Christopher Notarnicola, his sister-in-law Laura and her husband Jack Nicholson; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins, who will all miss him dearly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at The Church of St. Martha, located at 3800 Herbertsville Rd, Point Pleasant, NJ, on Thursday, December 19, at 11:00 AM. Interment will be privately held at a later date. His life and legacy will be remembered by all who knew him as a dedicated serviceman, a committed community leader, and a devoted family man.
