Robert J. Wills (Bob), 68, of Forked River, NJ passed away February 3, 2021 following complications from cardiac surgery. Those who have spent any time with Bob have laughed at his seemingly endless supply of jokes. He enjoyed his gadgets and toys from marshmallow shooters to motorcycles and feeding the squirrels. Most recently, Bob served as a security guard at Community Medical Center for 29 years. Bob served in the United States Marine Corps from 1970 to 1976 as a Sergeant (E5) in-flight mechanic on a C130. His pride in being a Marine was matched only by his joy of being BobBob to his grandchildren.
He is survived by his life partner of 27 years Brenda Miller, his stepchildren Dr. Julie Fleming, Kelli Fleming, and Kevin and Maggie Fleming, daughters Jessica and Joanna; grandchildren Ethan Fleming, Nicole Heayn, Aiden Fleming, and Jackson Fleming; siblings Joan Wills, Rick and RoseMarie Wills, and Patricia and Arthur Neylon; nieces and nephews Allison and Rob Newman, Eileen and Stephen Leonard, Kathleen and Michael Conforth; great-nieces and great nephews Madison and Calista Newman, Emma and Cora Leonard, and Brian, Nicolette, and Anthony Conforth, and countless friends and Marine Corps brothers. He is predeceased by his parents, George A. and Mildred Wills, and brother-in-law Guy Mistretta.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 8, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Star of the Sea Church, 101 Chelsea Avenue in Long Branch. Please honor him by telling a joke, play with some toys that make noise, or get in a little bit of trouble.
