Sandra Carasia

Sandra Carasia, 80 of Deal, died on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. Born in Ocean Grove, she has lived in Asbury Park before moving to Deal 56 years ago. Sandy was the Deputy Clerk for the Borough of Deal before retiring in 1998. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s of the Assumption in Deal and a lifetime member of the Deal Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. 

Sandy was predeceased by her husband James J. Carasia in 2017; her parents George and Virginia Smith and her brother Curtis Smith. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Laura Carasia, Robert and Debby Carasia, Stephen and Jennifer Carasia; her daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Bob Simons; her sisters and brother-in-law, Gerri and George Carney and Sue Dickey; 8 grandchildren, Katie, Kristin, Juliann, Michael, Annalisa, Nick, Morgan, and Christopher and 3 great grandchildren, Zoey, Toby Jr., and Chloe.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 6 to 8 pm at Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave in Long Branch. Funeral, Friday 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 11 am Mass St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church in Deal. Interment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in West Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Deal Fire Department, 110 Brighton Avenue, Deal, NJ 07723.
