Sandy Sue Bova Obituary

Sandy Bova, 71, of Oceanport, NJ passed away on May 4, 2024. She left this world in the same way she lived, surrounded by family and friends. And as they prayed together in her hospital room, God brought her home.

Sandy was born on November 11, 1952 to Merrill and Kathe Stapleton in Stuttgart, Germany. After graduating from Shore Regional High School in 1971, she went on to marry her high-school sweetheart and the love of her life, Jim Bova. They had two sons, Josh and Andy, and seven grandchildren, who all live in Oceanport as well.

Her life was lived in thankfulness to God, and she demonstrated that through devotion to Him and in humble, selfless service to her family and others. To know her was to feel God’s love and by this, she touched many lives.

Professionally, Sandy spent her life caring for children as a kindergarten aide and childcare worker, before leaving the workforce to help care for her grandchildren, which was the greatest joy in her life.

Sandy was predeceased by her parents and her brother Ricky Stapleton. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jim Bova, her sons Josh Bova and wife Jana, Andy Bova and wife Deirdre, her grandchildren Levi, Christian, Jeremiah, Simon, Audrey, Ella, and Isaac, and her siblings Mike (Christine), Debbie (Dave), Peggy, Jamie (Lou), Linda Hanley, her sisters-in-law Bella and Monica (Bill), and many well-loved nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Tower Hill Church in Red Bank, NJ at 9:30 AM on Saturday May 11, 2024. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a scholarship fund, in her name, that will provide tuition to FCA Summer Camps for students in need. www.fcanj.org/sandybova
