Stephen K. Rogers

Stephen Rogers of Long Branch passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. He would have been 77 on September 4th. He is survived by his wife and partner of 52 years Carolyn and daughters Kasey and Toni Sharp; daughter in law Adriana Gorrodona; and Donna Halligan who was like a daughter to him, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who affectionately just called him uncle.

He was born in Long Branch and graduated from Star of the Sea School and Long Branch High School, where he played baseball and football. He was the owner of Family Dental Lab, until selling it, where he often provided free services to the homebound and indigent. He then went to work for the Dipiero family in Rumson for the next 20 years.

After retirement he went to work at Monmouth Cove Marina for the next 5 years. He coached Ocean Twp. Little League for 13 years and the Girls Senior softball teams. He also sat on the board of the Ocean Twp. Boys Club. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing and long beach walks looking for treasures.

He was a quiet, gentle man and a true gentleman and was loved by everyone who knew him. He loved cooking for huge holiday parties and was happiest watching everyone enjoy themselves. He was an integral part of our family and the go to person. Whenever anyone needed anything they would go to him because he never said no. He was loved and will be missed by so many.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2021 from 1 - 4 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue in Long Branch. Funeral, Monday, 10 am from the funeral home with a Mass celebrated at 11 am at Star of the Sea Church in Long Branch.
