Stephen R. Carasia, 56, of Deal, NJ, passed away on August 4, 2023, in his hometown. Born on February 28, 1967, Stephen was the beloved son of James and Sandra Carasia. He is survived by his loving children, Christopher and Morgan as well as his sister, Marilyn, and his brother, Michael. Stephen was also cherished by his nephew, Nicholas, and niece, Annalisa.

Stephen had a successful career serving the Borough of Deal. He worked his way through the ranks starting as a dispatcher, eventually retiring as the Chief of Police. Shortly after retirement, he was hired as the Borough Administrator, where he had currently served. He dedicated many years serving as Fire Chief in Deal and Captain of the Deal First Aid Squad. Stephen's commitment to public service and his contributions to the community will always be remembered.

Stephen Carasia will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May his soul rest in peace.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 9 from 4-8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home.  The funeral will be on Thursday at 8:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10 am Mass at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church in Deal. Interment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in West Long Branch, In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Deal Fire Company, 110 Brighton Avenue, Deal, NJ 07723 or Deal Police Department, 190 Norwood Avenue, Deal, NJ 07723 in Stephen's honor.
