Thomas Steven Ferrugia, 65, of Eatontown, NJ passed away at his home on May 5, 2023. He was a Vietnam War veteran, retired Eatontown P.D. sergeant and K-9 handler, head coach of the Ocean United Knight Mares, but most of all a deeply cherished husband and father. Always light-hearted and generous, he made friends quickly and explored countless hobbies with them.
He is survived by his wife Linda, daughters Gina Ferrugia and Kim Schmidt, sister Debbie Valenti, cousins Tony and his wife Colleen Ferrugia and Keith Ferrugia, grandson Hunter, and innumerable close friends. He is predeceased by his father Leonard, mother Barbara Joye, and brother Joseph.
A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, May 17 from 5 pm until the time of the service with Military Honors at 7 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue in Long Branch. The burial of cremains will be held on Thursday, May 18 at 1:30 pm at the Brigadier William C. Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown.
