Thomas Sleavin Obituary

Thomas P. Sleavin, 69, of Oceanport passed away on November 25, 2021 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. The son of Harold and Florence Pingitore Sleavin, Tom was born and raised on Chelsea Avenue in Long Branch. After college, he lived and worked in New York where he enjoyed life in the city. After marrying, he resided in Oceanport with his wife, Amy. He loved going out to dinner, cooking, grilling, entertaining friends, watching sci-fi movies with his son, and sitting in the sun in his zen garden. An avid music lover, Tom enjoyed sharing crazy stories of rock concerts he’d been to and continued to keep up with all the latest bands. He was quick witted and had a sense of humor that his friends and family grew to understand and cherish.

Prior to his death, he worked as a contract manager for Anthem Companies, Inc.

Mr. Sleavin is survived by his wife, Amy Mazzucca Sleavin and son, Harry D. Sleavin, and his miniature schnauzer, Pancakes. Also surviving are his brother, H. James Sleavin, MD; his sister, Ann Marie Sleavin Sirianni and husband Joseph; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy and David Wheaton, Freddy and Jo Ann Mazzucca, and Matthew Mazzucca. He will be forever missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 30 from 4-8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., Long Branch. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 1 at 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Church in Long Branch.
