Vincent J. Pacera Obituary

Vincent Joseph Pacera, “Vinny” 67 of Long Branch, died on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. Vinny was born in Neptune, NJ to Peter Pacera and Teresa Giurlando Pacera on April 28, 1954. He lived in Long Branch for the past 65 years.

Vinny is predeceased by his parents and he leaves behind his high school sweetheart, Sharon Rath Pacera; his son Vincent Peter Pacera; his sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Butch Grell and several nieces and nephews, whom he loved as his own.

Vinny has been dedicated to Long Branch his entire life. He became a volunteer fireman for the Atlantic Engine Company in the early 1970’s. He rose to Captain in 1979 and remained active as long as he could. Vinny also became a Little League Coach from 1995- 2003, going right up to the All Star Games. He was also an avidly committed Band Parent for the Long Branch High School Marching Band from 2003-2008. He put his whole heart into everything he did.

Vinny’s love for life showed through his talents as a wood worker and electrical engineer. He used his talents in every aspect of his life and dedicated commitments throughout his career.

Vinny was the first graduate of the original Work/Study Program through Long Branch High School in 1971-1972, where he earning a job as an automotive technician for Precision Porsche-Audi of Ocean Township. He then moved on H.S. Stereo in Ocean Township for 21 years and the last 7 to 10 years of that job he became co-owner of the Train Cellar. Vinny’s love of trains was sparked by his grandfather’s enthusiasm and love for model trains.

Vinny then worked at Fort Monmouth, working for contractors utilizing his skill in electronics and audio visual communications. He advanced through his career, receiving several awards for his work and commitment to his job. When Fort Monmouth closed, Vinny traveled to Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland until his retirement in 2019.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2021 from 2-5 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., Long Branch. Funeral, Monday; 9:30 am from the funeral home with a Service to begin at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Mt Carmel Cemetery.
