William J. Doyle, Jr.

William "Bill" Joseph Doyle, Jr., 78, passed away on May 26, 2023, in Red Bank, New Jersey. He was a current resident of Atlantic Highlands, NJ. He was born on July 16, 1944, in Woodside, Queens, New York, to the late William J. Doyle, Sr. and Ann Jean Powers Doyle. Bill was the beloved husband of Diane Doyle and loving father of Nicolle Lake and her husband Russell, Danielle Ruchaevsky, and William J. Doyle, III and his wife Stephanie. He was the proud Grandfather of Joshua, Grace and Benjamin Lake and Matthew, Ashley and Gabrielle Ruchaevsky; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Catherine and Ron Davidson; his niece and her husband, Jennifer and Matt White. He is also predeceased by his sister, Jean Ann Doyle, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Joseph and Vivian Scoles and his nephew Joseph Nittoso.

Bill attended Monsignor McClancy High School and later pursued higher education at the New York Institute of Technology earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and John J. College of Criminal Justice in New York also earning his Bachelor of Science degree. He was a proud veteran of the Marines and served from 1965 to 1971 during the Vietnam War with distinction. After his military service, Bill had a successful career on Wall Street and later served as the Chief of Police in Hunter Mountain, New York. He also served as an Army National Guard Recruiter and, finally, as a police officer at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, before retiring in 2004. He moved to South Carolina in 2011 and returned to live in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey in 2020.

Bill had a passion for meeting new people, fishing, and vacationing in Antigua. He will be missed dearly by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 1st, from 3:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 6:30 pm followed by Military Honors at 7:00 pm at Damiano Funeral Home in Long Branch. The family invites you to leave a letter of condolence through the Tribute/Guestbook link above.
