William Charles Collett Obituary

 

William Charles Collett, age 68 of Long Branch, died Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Newark Beth Israel Hospital. Born in Ft. Monmouth in Eatontown he was a life resident of the shore area. Bill worked for the Ocean Township Board of Education for 30 years before retiring in 2015.

He was a parishioner of Star of the Sea Church of Christ the King Parish and attended Mass regularly. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, family, and friend dearly. Bill was an active member the Long Branch Elks Lodge. He enjoyed going to the casinos, playing mini golf (putt putt), fishing, and was a big fan of the Yankees. Bill also enjoyed watching the occasional classic western movie and outings to the movie theater.

He is survived by his wife Ana Collett; his son William Collett; 2 daughters Amy Lombardo and Victoria Collett; his 4 grandchildren and his 3 sisters.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 from 5- 8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue in Long Branch. Funeral Tuesday, 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at Star of the Sea Church in Long Branch. Interment will be at Glenwood Cemetery in West Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Special Needs Children Fund, C/O The Long Branch Elks, P.O. Box 3147, Long Branch, NJ 07740.
